24 / 7 Spike
What originally started out as a DIY project eventually spawned off into a semi-obsession. Fulfilling the desire to see what constitutes the DIY habits of people, I dug deeper into the process of creating a series of things in order to see the different types of behaviors a maker must adopt.
The original story came out at a sudden realization when I was in university. It was my first time taking a late night class that ended towards 11pm at night. And although San Francisco is known to be one of the safest cities around, I wanted to do something that might aid me in an unlikely situation (as well as up my swag game.)
After my first pair of shoes which I loved, I still had so much leftover materials that I decided to spike anything I could get my hands on. Understanding the raw products before applying the studs were key to making a final prototype that would be ideal. After studying different constitutions of products, each time I would better the process and found key improvements to increase the usability as well as the efficiency of making them.
